It can be difficult staying motivated to lose weight when vacations are scheduled and summer feels like it’s winding down. You may find yourself putting off your workout until tomorrow one too many days in a row — and then tomorrow becomes next week. However, staying motivated to lose weight can be made a little easier with a few tips and tricks to stick to your fitness habits no matter what time of year it is.

One of the easiest ways people lose motivation is as simple as not clearly setting their goal. Sure, you may have said it out loud to yourself, thought long and hard, or even told a couple people. Beyond just wanting to set your goal, in order to stay motivated for the amount of time it takes to get in shape, lose weight or just adopt a healthy lifestyle, requires constant reiteration.

Set your goal and write it down somewhere you see it every day. That way you’ll constantly be reminded when you skip a day. Once you know your goal, visualize yourself achieving it, everything from what it’ll feel like and what you will do once it is accomplished.

Fitness is not an overnight success; it requires a lot of patience to achieve health goals in a safe way. It’s also easy to lose motivation and focus. An easy way to avoid falling off track is by setting smaller goals along the way. For instance, if you want to lose 15 pounds and that is your end goal, it may take a long time without feeling a sense of reward to keep you excited to continue your progress.

Instead, start with a smaller goal to lose five pounds by a closer date, or begin by changing your diet and taking diet pills that work, since there are a lot of factors that contribute to weight loss. Taking on a large goal and making a drastic lifestyle change can make you overwhelmed, and more likely to fall off track. Achieving smaller, more realistic goals will give you a feeling of accomplishment to continue to the next attainable milestone.
