It’s Time for the Penny Test

Last updated on November 12, 2019 at 09:15 am

When was the last time you checked the tread on your tires? We know, it’s hard enough to remember to change your oil on time, but your tire treads are crucial to you and your vehicle’s safety. It’s time to perform the penny test.

  1. Find yourself a penny. The test is easier to measure if your penny is shiny.
  2. Insert the penny into several tread grooves of your tire with Mr. Lincoln facing upside down.
  3. Look and see if all of Lincoln’s head is showing. If so, your treads are worn out and it’s time for new tires.

The penny test is a simple and easy way to judge how well your tires are doing. Plymouth Rock Assurance would love to hear about some of your other helpful reminders in the comments below. Every tip is just another way to help us all get home safe.
