Beaches to Visit in Connecticut

Summer has finally arrived! That means warm weather, barbeques, outside dining and most importantly… beach trips! On a hot, sunny day, the beach is a great place to take the entire family. Whether you want to relax and read a book, build a sandcastle, or play in the water, the beach has fun for everyone! If you live in Connecticut or are just visiting, be sure to check out these beaches to get the most out of your beach trip:

Calf Pasture Beach

Why not keep your perfect summer beach day going after dark? Calf Pasture Beach offers live concerts and movie nights! Plus it offers a picnic area, playground, volleyball court, restaurants, a pier and more!

Compo Beach

The well-kept shoreline of Compo Beach also includes a nearby playground and skate park. Relax, take a walk along the shore, play at the park and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Cove Island

Besides the beautiful beach, there are plenty of things to do on Cove Island. Play a game of volleyball, take a ride or a walk along the bike baths, go kayaking, or grab a snack from the snack bar.

Hammonasset Beach State Park

With its two miles of shoreline, Hammonasset has the longest stretch of coast of any beach in Connecticut. It offers fun outdoor activities like fishing, camping, hiking and more!

Harvey’s Beach

This beach is the perfect place to bring young children. The sand extends far and wide creating shallow water and leaving plenty of room for building sand castles and playing beach games.

  1. You forgot to compile a list of Maine Beaches. Old Orchard Beach is the Best!

    You may as well include a listing of Rhode Island beaches as well.
