Berkshire Bank has been offering insurance since 2000, first through its Goldleaf Insurance Agency, which was renamed in 2005 to Berkshire Insurance Group, a Berkshire Bank Affiliate. In 2005, Berkshire Insurance Group expanded its team with the addition of Woronoco Insurance, as part of the acquisition of Woronoco Savings Bank. In 2006, Berkshire Bank bought five local, independent, insurance agencies with histories dating back to pre-1900. The agencies included Reynolds, Barnes & Hebb and McCormick, Smith & Curry Insurance Agency, Pittsfield; Minkler Insurance Agency, Stockbridge; H.S. Andrews Agency, Great Barrington; and MassOne Insurance Agency, Greenfield.Currently Berkshire Insurance Group has 11 locations throughout Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley, and offers insurance throughout Berkshire Banks footprint including New York State and Vermont.
