Plymouth Rock Honored at Efma–Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards 2021

Northeast home insurance provider’s @Home product recognized in global award program for product and service innovation

BOSTON – June 9, 2021 – Plymouth Rock Home Assurance Corporation, the customer-first, data-driven home insurance provider of choice for the Northeast, announced it has won silver for product and service innovation in the Efma–Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards 2021. Plymouth Rock was honored for its @Home product, a suite of digital tools that modernize the traditional home insurance quoting and buying process for independent agents and consumers alike. Winners in the product and service innovation category were recognized for innovations that significantly enhance, extend or replace the traditional offer, creating new profit pools by serving new customer segments or existing segments in new ways, and entering or creating new markets typically beyond the reach of insurance players.

Plymouth Rock–an insurance provider with more than 35 years of experience writing and managing home and auto insurance–completely reinvented the traditional home insurance process with @Home, the fastest and easiest way to insure a home or rental. Its enabling technology is built on massive amounts of data and cutting-edge predictive modeling techniques to make the customer experience better, eliminating the negative experience often associated with the critical investment of insurance. @Home sources data from publicly available databases, so that the only requirement necessary to obtain a home insurance quote is the home’s address. Because no guesswork is necessary and the company takes responsibility for its estimates, thousands of Northeasterners can feel confident knowing that they’re getting insurance coverage at the right cost.

The awards competition, which recognizes the best insurance technology innovations, attracted 460 entries from nearly 300 institutions in 55 countries — 100 more submissions than received in 2020. This year’s entries reflect the intense drive among insurers to innovate to address new risks and meet changing customer needs amid continued COVID-19-related disruption.

The winners were selected across seven categories by a panel of 25 judges, including senior executives from insurers worldwide. Each entry was assessed using three criteria: originality; strategic capacity to generate long-term competitive edge and return on investment; and adaptability for use in other markets and countries.
